We are exposed to "Candid Photography" everyday of our lives. Photo journalists and paparazzi make a living from it. However away form the tabloid magazine and newspaper covers it has a very real and artistic place in the heart of recreational and professional photographers. More often a photo that is captured when the subject is unaware and not posing, provides a real insight to their true self. They are stripped down to being natural. It is in these circumstances that emotion truly becomes raw. This is one of the reasons that wedding photographers often shoot in pairs, one to get the pose and one to capture the unawares.

Candid photography in public can be a touchy subject. People can take offence to being photographed without consent so remember discretion is paramount.
